In the late hours of a summer night in New Britain, Connecticut, the life of 19-year-old Cory Earl Washington, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On August 18, 2014, at approximately 10:49 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the air in the vicinity of 62 Roberts Street. Concerned residents quickly dialed for help, reporting the unsettling sounds and the sight of a person lying in the street.
