On a cold January evening in New Britain, Connecticut, the life of 34-year-old Hispanic male Erick Javier Rivera Jr. was tragically cut short. On January 15, 2019, at approximately 7:34 p.m., a police officer on patrol in the vicinity of North Street heard the sound of several gunshots. The officer discovered Rivera on the ground at the intersection of North and Oak Street, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
