In the summer of 2020, a life full of promise was tragically cut short. Elijah Ortega, a 16-year-old Black male from Windsor Locks, Connecticut, was a rising star on his high school's varsity basketball team, known for his infectious smile and competitive spirit on the court. His life, however, came to a violent end on June 24, 2020, in a local park.
