In the late spring of 2014, a grim discovery was made in North Little Rock, Arkansas. On May 27th, the brother of Corey Renard Britt, a 42-year-old man, went to a residence on Rose Street and found him deceased. Officers were called to the scene and observed that Britt had sustained trauma consistent with a homicide, prompting an immediate investigation into his death.
The investigation into the murder of Corey Renard Britt continued through the summer.
Then, on the morning of August 28, 2014, authorities with the North Little Rock Police Department made a significant breakthrough in the case. They took a 21-year-old man named Juwon Cooper into custody. His arrest was for the first-degree murder of Britt.
Cooper was apprehended at a home on Greenlea Drive in North Little Rock and was taken into custody without incident. Law enforcement officials continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding Britt's homicide following the arrest of the primary suspect.
