On May 26, 2014, 42-year-old Corey Renard Britt was found deceased inside a residence on Rose Lane in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The North Little Rock Police Department responded to the scene and initiated a homicide investigation.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of 21-year-old Juwon Cooper, a neighbor of Britt. Cooper was charged with murder in connection with Britt's death.
