On a summer day in Hughes, Arkansas, the life of 32-year-old Corey Scofield, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On August 1, 2014, Scofield was fatally shot, becoming another victim of gun violence. Remembered by those who knew him as a kind, funny, and a good role model, his death left a void in the community. He was a graduate of Hughes Elementary/High School, class of 2000.
