On a late summer evening in Alexander, Arkansas, the lively sounds of a gathering were tragically silenced by gunfire. On August 22, 2014, Joe Thomas Dickerson Jr., a 40-year-old Black man from Little Rock, was shot and killed. The violent incident also claimed the life of 54-year-old Patricia Tucker of Alexander.
