On August 4, 2017, a day that would forever alter the lives of many, Jeremy Robert Green, a 38-year-old male, was fatally shot at a Valero gas station in Marmaduke, Arkansas. The incident, which unfolded around 10:00 a.m., cut short the life of a man remembered as a father, son, brother, and a friend to many. Born on December 28, 1978, in Rockford, Illinois, Jeremy had grown up in the Rector area of Arkansas and was known for his vibrant personality and the smile he brought to those around him.
He was a father to his beloved children, Kimber and Hanley Green.
The events leading to his untimely death began with a meeting at the gas station located at 11402 U.S. 49. Jeremy Green met with Adam Casey Brown and a woman identified as Rachelle Green. While Jeremy was standing at the rear of his vehicle engaged in a conversation with Brown, the situation took a violent turn. Brown allegedly drew a pistol from his holster, aimed it at Jeremy, and fired the weapon, leading to his death at the scene.
Following the incident, an investigation was launched, leading to the arrest of Adam Casey Brown, a 37-year-old resident of Hornersville, Missouri. In October 2017, the Second Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney's Office announced that formal charges of first-degree murder, a class Y felony, had been filed against Brown. The case was set to be heard in Greene County Circuit Court.
