In the late summer of 2017, the community of Springdale, Arkansas, was unsettled by the violent death of a young man. On the afternoon of August 17th, police responded to a call that led them to an apartment in the 200 block of Strawberry Meadows. Inside, they discovered the body of 24-year-old Xavier Williams. He was found alone, having sustained apparent gunshot wounds, and his death was immediately treated as a homicide, with foul play suspected by the investigators.
The investigation into the shooting death of Xavier Williams, a male resident of the city, quickly progressed. Within days, the Springdale Police Department announced the apprehension of two suspects in connection with the killing. The individuals taken into custody were identified as 18-year-old Anferney Amram and 19-year-old Albert Davis. The arrests brought a swift turn to the case that had cast a shadow over the neighborhood.
Following the arrests, details began to emerge regarding the alleged involvement of the two suspects. Anferney Amram faced a series of grave charges, including capital murder, tampering with evidence, residential burglary, discharging a firearm within the city limits, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. His alleged accomplice, Albert Davis, was charged with residential burglary, tampering with evidence, and hindering apprehension. According to police, Amram provided a statement in which he admitted to shooting Williams multiple times with a 9mm handgun. He also disclosed that the weapon was subsequently disassembled, and its parts were discarded from a vehicle while driving through the nearby city of Bentonville. While two suspects were in custody, authorities indicated that further arrests were anticipated as the investigation continued to unfold.
