Diego Alvarado, age 16, was shot and killed on November 25, 2016, in the New City neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. The shooting took place on a Friday evening, during the Thanksgiving weekend. Diego was reportedly shot in the back and the groin, and he succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward. This incident was part of a violent wave that swept through Chicago over the Thanksgiving holiday, during which multiple people were killed and many others wounded across different neighborhoods.
