In the spring of 2021, the life of a promising and beloved teenager, CamRon Vallequese Coger, was tragically cut short in Hot Springs, Arkansas. At just sixteen years old, this male had already achieved his high school diploma and held dreams of becoming a barber with his own shop one day. Known for his heart of gold, joyful laugh, and a smile that could light up any room, Cam'Ron was a beacon of light to those who knew him.
He was a talented individual, excelling on the basketball court and expressing his creativity through music by rapping and creating his own beats. His sincere, love-filled hugs and his concern for the happiness of others were qualities that left a lasting impact on his friends and family.
On the evening of Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the sound of a gunshot pierced the night on Cones Road. Officers from the Hot Springs Police Department responded to a call of a shooting and, upon their arrival, discovered Cam'Ron suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the immediate response of emergency medical personnel, his injury proved to be fatal, and he succumbed to it at the scene. The news of his sudden and violent death sent ripples of grief through the community.
In the wake of the tragedy, the Criminal Investigations Division of the Hot Springs Police Department launched an investigation. Their efforts quickly led to the identification of a suspect, nineteen-year-old Tyrese Darnell Davis of Hot Springs. Davis was located, arrested, and subsequently charged with one count of Manslaughter in connection with Cam'Ron's death. While the investigation was ongoing, authorities stated that they were not seeking any other suspects at the time. The community was left to mourn the loss of a young man whose life was filled with potential and whose absence would be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
