In the early morning hours of May 6, 2022, the quiet of the Beech Street Apartments in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When officers from the Pine Bluff Police Department arrived at the complex in the 2100 block of Beech Street around 2:40 a.m., they discovered the body of 58-year-old Clyde Edward Scott. He was found lying between two of the apartment buildings.
