In the vast expanse of Arizona, a routine law enforcement action spiraled into a fatal encounter for Sergeant Loren Whitehat. While assisting his twin brother, who was also an officer with the Navajo Division of Public Safety, in the arrest of a suspect for driving under the influence, a struggle ensued. The individual had fled into a rocky area off of Highway 160, attempting to evade capture.
