In the early morning hours of October 10, 2011, in Mesa, Arizona, the life of one-year-old Jeremy Noe Pineda was tragically cut short. The young boy was at his grandmother's apartment, located at 750 E. Dana #2, along with four other children under her care. At approximately 6:45 AM, a violent intrusion shattered the morning's peace.
Two Hispanic males reportedly confronted the grandmother at the back door of the residence.
In a sudden burst of violence, shots were fired, and the two unidentified men fled the scene on foot. In the immediate aftermath, the grandmother made a devastating discovery inside the apartment. She found her grandson, Jeremy, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the swiftness of the event, the damage was irreversible. Jeremy Noe Pineda succumbed to his injuries, his death later confirmed to be a result of the gunshot wound. The Mesa Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide. However, the suspects who fled the scene have not been publicly identified or apprehended.
