On December 10, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Euless police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Fuller Wiser Road. Upon arrival, officers found 22-year-old Alexander Antonio Borras suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Grapevine, where he succumbed to his injuries during surgery.
Following a thorough investigation, on December 17, 2024, Euless police arrested 20-year-old Reynaldo Marcos Silva in connection with Borras's death. Silva has been charged with capital murder. The arrest was facilitated by the collaborative efforts of K-9 teams from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Search One Rescue Team, and the Irving Police Department.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation. Euless police continue to seek information from the public to aid in their inquiries. Community members with relevant information are encouraged to contact Detectives Coffee or Norvell at the Euless Police Department.
Alexander "Alex" Antonio Borras was born on September 16, 2002, in Bedford, Texas, and grew up in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford (HEB) area. He graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 2021 and briefly attended RPA College, where he played collegiate football. Known for his charisma, humor, and love for family and friends, Alex's untimely death has left a profound void in the community.
A service to celebrate Alex's life was held on December 17, 2024, at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas. He is survived by his parents, siblings, grandparents, and numerous extended family members who continue to mourn his loss.
