Younis Hussain Alhassinyani, a 22-year-old man of Kurdish ethnicity from Arlington, Texas, was reported missing by his family on February 2, 2021. His body was discovered two days later, on February 4, 2021, in a culvert near a creek by the State Highway 360 service road in Euless, Texas. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner determined that Alhassinyani died from a gunshot wound to the neck, and foul play was suspected.
The investigation into Alhassinyani's death revealed a disturbing
sequence of events. On the night of February 1, 2021, Alhassinyani was visiting his girlfriend, Erika Perez, at her Arlington apartment for a tattoo session. According to court records, Perez and four other individuals, including the tattoo artist, were involved in a bizarre crime. Alhassinyani was forcibly tattooed with Perez's name on his neck and another tattoo on his back was inked out. The next day, Alhassinyani called his family to ask for a ride home but never arrived. His family reported him missing when he did not respond to phone calls and texts.
The investigation led to the arrests of four suspects: Erika Perez, Benjamin Delgadillo, Pedro Angel Rodriguez, and Justin Jaxs Salinas. Perez was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated kidnapping, filing a false police report, and failure to report a felony. Delgadillo, Rodriguez, and Salinas were charged with capital murder. A fifth suspect was still being sought at the time.
The case remains under investigation, and detectives are working to gather more evidence and identify any additional suspects involved in Alhassinyani's death. The Arlington Police Department has asked for the public's help and urged anyone with information to come forward.
