On the night of December 12, 2024, just before midnight, Liberty Police Department officers responded to a 911 call reporting a possible shooting at Outlaw Jacks bar, located at 3216 Beaumont Avenue in Liberty, Texas. Upon arrival, they discovered 37-year-old Christopher Lynn Pilgreen lying face down on the concrete outside the establishment. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the early stages of the investigation, authorities released photos of two persons of interest, seeking public assistance in identifying them. The community's response was instrumental in advancing the case. By late Friday night, December 13, arrest warrants had been issued. Judge Chap Cain of the 253rd District Court issued a warrant for 28-year-old Christopher Jamal Wickliff, charging him with murder, a first-degree felony. Additionally, a warrant was issued for 25-year-old Crystal Nicole Salinas, charging her with failure to report a felony.
Both suspects were subsequently taken into custody. The Liberty Police Department expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance, as well as to partnering agencies, including the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office, Dayton Police Department, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the media, for their support in advancing the investigation. The case remains active, and authorities continue to encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.
