On November 18, 2024, 19-year-old Ta'Arah Griffin-Carmichael was fatally shot in Columbus, Ohio. She was transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital by associates, where she was pronounced dead at 9:18 p.m.

The shooting occurred in the 200 block of Highview Landing, an area with several apartment buildings. Investigators determined that a round was fired through the window of an apartment.
