Kanari Gentry-Bowers, aged 12, was fatally shot on February 11, 2017, in Chicago, Illinois. She was struck by a stray bullet while playing at a school playground in the Washington Park neighborhood. The incident occurred on a Saturday night, and Kanari was rushed to Stroger Hospital where she remained on life support for four days before she passed away.
