On November 22, 2024, in Sycamore, Illinois, 56-year-old Kimberly Parsons Hurley and her husband, 58-year-old Robert Hurley, were found deceased in the backyard of their residence on East Maplewood Drive. Both had sustained fatal gunshot wounds, and a firearm was discovered on Robert Hurley. Authorities are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide, with Robert Hurley as the suspected perpetrator.
