In the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 18, 2024, a shooting shattered the quiet of a Columbus, Georgia neighborhood. At approximately 8:20 a.m., police officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Celia Drive following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered 15-year-old Elijah Hatcher suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency medical services were quickly on the scene and transported the gravely injured teenager to the Piedmont Columbus Regional emergency room. ...
