On December 9, 2024, at approximately 2:10 a.m., 22-year-old Brayan Francisco Medina Mejia was fatally shot in the 41100 block of 163rd Street East, near East Avenue N, in Lake Los Angeles, an unincorporated area near Lancaster, California. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene, where they found Medina Mejia suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite efforts to provide medical assistance, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
