In the quiet community of Beulah, Alabama, the festive spirit of Christmas Eve in 2024 was shattered by a tragic and violent event that claimed the lives of two young women. Kayden Lynch, a 19-year-old White/Caucasian female, and her 18-year-old stepsister, Madison Daly, were found shot to death in their home. The two were not only stepsisters but also roommates.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office received a call about gunfire in the area around 3:48 p.m. on December 24, 2024.
When deputies arrived at the residence on Lee Road 2113, they discovered both Lynch and Daly unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Madison Daly was the mother of a young toddler.
Authorities quickly identified a suspect, 18-year-old Jalen Dashawn Holmes, who was the victims' neighbor. Holmes had allegedly assaulted his own mother at their adjacent home and taken a handgun before going next door to the residence where Lynch and Daly were. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots shortly after the alleged assault. Holmes was taken into custody at the scene and has since been charged with capital murder of two or more victims. He is being held in the Lee County Jail. A friend of the victims revealed that Lynch had been in love with Holmes, making the events even more shocking to those who knew them. The investigation into the double homicide is ongoing.
