On January 9, 2023, at approximately 7:15 p.m., 34-year-old Craig De'Andre Jefferson was fatally shot during an altercation at a convenience store located in the 3300 block of Winbern Street in southeast Houston, Texas. The incident began as a verbal dispute between Jefferson and 30-year-old Joshua Toliver, which escalated when Toliver produced a firearm and shot Jefferson.
