On April 14, 2023, 69-year-old Romero Sosa of La Porte, Texas, was fatally shot while riding his motorcycle on Interstate 45 near mile marker 114 in the Huntsville area. Sosa, along with Andrew Cole, 43, of Deer Park, and another 61-year-old man, were targeted in a shooting attack that afternoon. All three individuals were wearing clothing and insignia indicating their affiliation with an outlaw motorcycle gang.
