On August 7, 2023, the body of 41-year-old Ermias Mekonnen Tassew was discovered inside a vehicle in a parking lot located in the 3300 block of Central Expressway in Plano, Texas. The Plano Police Department responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m., and the body was subsequently transported to the Collin County Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy. The examination revealed that Tassew did not die of natural causes, prompting a homicide investigation.
