On December 27, 2023, at approximately 2:48 p.m., Brownwood Communications received an emergency call reporting a shooting near the intersection of 5th Street and Avenue E in Brownwood, Texas. Upon arrival, emergency responders found 32-year-old Taylor David Hart of Zephyr, Texas, suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was transported to Hendrick-Brownwood Medical Center, where, despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at 3:44 p.m.
