On December 28, 2023, 25-year-old Eriawna "Eri" Curry tragically lost her life in San Antonio, Texas. Born on October 12, 1998, to Erick Curry and La'Kishia J. Ware, Eriawna was a dedicated mother of two young sons, Zion Gray, aged 2, and Kaiden Ryder, just 1 month old. She was known for her passion for working with infants and small children, having been employed at a daycare and serving as a part-time sitter.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m.
at the Prose Westover Hills apartments located in the 9200 block of Vista West Drive. Eriawna had gone to the apartment, which she previously shared with her estranged husband, 27-year-old Ryan Walser, to collect her belongings following their separation. Upon arrival, an altercation ensued between Eriawna and Walser's current girlfriend. During the confrontation, Walser discharged a firearm multiple times, striking Eriawna. She sustained critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Law enforcement authorities promptly arrested Ryan Walser at the scene. He was subsequently charged with murder in connection with Eriawna's death. This tragic event highlights the severe consequences of domestic disputes and the devastating impact on families and communities. Eriawna's untimely passing has left a profound void among her family, friends, and all who knew her.
