On December 30, 2023, 15-year-old Ethan Martinez was fatally shot near his apartment complex on Ray Ellison Boulevard in San Antonio, Texas. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. when Ethan left his residence to meet individuals in the parking lot, reportedly to sell vape cartridges. Shortly after, multiple gunshots were heard, and Ethan was found critically injured near the complex's exit gate. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
