On the evening of February 28, 2024, at approximately 9:55 p.m., the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to a report of a woman being harassed at the Shadywood Apartments located at 1708 Shadywood Lane in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Upon arrival, officers discovered Joshua Freeman, a 41-year-old resident of Longview, Texas, lying outside an apartment door with multiple gunshot wounds.
