On April 20, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas, 52-year-old Byron Blackwell was fatally shot in the head at his residence on Northfork Road. The alleged shooter, 31-year-old Trace Hemphill, is the son of Blackwell's girlfriend. Hemphill had been previously asked to leave the home but returned that evening to do laundry. According to an arrest affidavit, Hemphill's grandmother, who was present at the time, reported that Hemphill and Blackwell appeared to be getting along when she went to bed. The situat ...
