On May 21, 2024, at approximately 5:43 p.m., the Midland Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 6700 block of Rio Bravo in Midland, Texas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 41-year-old John Richard lying deceased in the roadway, with a male suspect kneeling nearby, holding a firearm.
