On June 4, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Fort Worth, Texas, resulting in the deaths of 46-year-old Jaime Ignacio Reyna and his 24-year-old son, Jaime Francisco Reyna. The father and son were fatally shot during the early morning hours at their residence in the 3800 block of North Elm Street. Police responded to the scene shortly after 2 a.m., discovering both men with multiple gunshot wounds.
The elder Reyna was pronounced dead at the scene, while his son succumbed to his injuries after being transported to John Peter Smith Hospital.
Investigations revealed that an altercation had taken place inside the home between the victims and one or more suspects, leading to the fatal shootings. In the months following the incident, two individuals were arrested in connection with the double homicide. On June 10, 2024, 42-year-old Antonio Dowlen was apprehended and charged with capital murder involving multiple victims. He was booked into the Tarrant County Jail with a bond set at $850,000. In addition to the capital murder charge, Dowlen faced multiple other charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, and evading arrest or detention.
Subsequently, on September 4, 2024, 21-year-old Zawon Hinton was arrested and charged with capital murder of multiple persons in connection with the same case. He was booked into the Fort Worth City Jail.
The arrests of Dowlen and Hinton marked significant developments in the investigation, bringing hope for justice to the grieving family and community. Authorities continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident to ensure accountability for the tragic loss of life.
