Ronnie G$ Lil Ronnie, a 30-year-old African American male rapper from Fort Worth, Texas, was tragically shot and killed on March 3, 2025, alongside his 5-year-old daughter, R'mani Sibley. The fatal shooting occurred at Slappy's Express Car Wash in Forest Hill, a suburb of Fort Worth. According to police reports, Ronnie had parked his car in a bay at the car wash when a white, four-door Kia pulled up. Two men exited the vehicle and opened fire on him and his daughter before fleeing the scene. Officers arrived shortly after the attack and attempted life-saving measures, but both victims succumbed to their injuries.

Authorities quickly identified two suspects in the case: 24-year-old Adonis Robinson and 21-year-old Jakobie Russell. Both men were charged with capital murder. Robinson was arrested in Livingston, Texas, on March 6, 2025, while Russell turned himself in the following day and was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals. Investigators revealed that Robinson had used his girlfriend's vehicle to commit the crime. Surveillance footage showed the suspects arriving at the car wash at approximately 10:48 a.m., exiting their vehicle, and approaching Ronnie while he was vacuuming his car. The suspects then opened fire, forcing Ronnie to attempt to flee before being cornered and fatally shot. His daughter was found in the front passenger seat of his Dodge Challenger.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, though police have confirmed that it was a targeted killing. Robinson has a violent criminal history, including a conviction for assaulting a woman near Marine Creek Reservoir in 2019, and is a registered sex offender. Russell also has prior convictions for assault and unlawful carrying of a weapon. The Forest Hill Police Department, along with the Texas Rangers, continues to investigate the case, analyzing surveillance footage and other evidence. Authorities have urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation.

The North Texas music community was deeply shaken by the news of Ronnie's death. Known for his contributions to the local hip-hop scene, Ronnie had cultivated a loyal following, with approximately 40,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. He was best known for his 2018 collaboration with Go Yayo, “Hoodfame Killuminati.” Following his death, tributes poured in from fellow artists and fans, including Fort Worth native Leon Bridges and rapper Yella Beezy, who expressed their grief and condolences on social media. Many remembered Ronnie for his positive energy, impressive lyrical skills, and dedication to fatherhood.

The case remains under investigation, with law enforcement officials determined to hold the perpetrators accountable. The Forest Hill Police Chief emphasized that criminals would not be allowed to evade justice, and authorities continue to review all available evidence to ensure a thorough prosecution.
