On June 24, 2024, at approximately 7:24 p.m., Arlington police responded to a shooting in the 400 block of Claire Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered 18-year-old Jesus Galarza of Fort Worth and a 20-year-old man, both suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle riddled with bullet holes. Both victims were transported to local hospitals; the 20-year-old sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while Galarza was in critical condition.
Tragically, on June 26, 2024, Galarza succumbed to his injuries. Investigators determined that Galarza and his companion had arranged to meet 17-year-old Joshua Nunn in the neighborhood for a high-risk drug transaction. During the encounter, Nunn allegedly drew a firearm and opened fire on their vehicle, striking both occupants. Following the shooting, Nunn fled the scene.
After a thorough investigation, Arlington homicide detectives identified Nunn as the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest on charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. On June 27, 2024, Nunn surrendered to authorities at the Tarrant County Jail, where his bond was set at $600,000.
