On July 10, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Jasper County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a person lying on the southbound shoulder of U.S. Highway 96 in Buna, Texas, near the Tractor Supply Company. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 18-year-old Arthur Logan Faver Orosco, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators quickly gathered information indicating that Orosco had been in the company of 18-year-old Cody Dwayne Vann, also from Buna, on the
evening prior to the incident. A search warrant was executed at a residence where Orosco had recently been living, leading to the collection of pertinent evidence. Further investigation revealed that a verbal altercation had occurred between Orosco and Vann, culminating in Vann allegedly shooting Orosco in the early morning hours of July 10.
Vann was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He was booked into the Jasper County Jail, with bond set at $1 million by Justice of the Peace Brett Holloway. On September 12, 2024, a Jasper County Grand Jury indicted Vann on the murder charge. As of the latest available information, Vann remains in custody awaiting trial.
Arthur Orosco was born on July 31, 2005, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Charles Graham and Danielle Collins. He is survived by his parents, siblings, grandparents, and numerous extended family members. A celebration of his life was held on July 27, 2024, at Our Lady of LaSalette Church in Kirbyville, Texas.
