On August 1, 2024, 36-year-old Joel "Boy" Holguin of El Paso, Texas, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident in Socorro, a neighboring city. The events unfolded on Valle Verde Road, where Holguin and his longtime friend and neighbor, 39-year-old Oscar Rodriguez, were reportedly drinking together at Rodriguez's residence.
