On August 18, 2024, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Fort Worth police responded to a shooting near the intersection of Miller Avenue and Hardeman Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 23-year-old Jacouryan "Coury" Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during surgery.
