Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of South Arizona Avenue, where they discovered Soto with a gunshot wound to the chest. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner classified Soto's death as a homicide, citing the cause as a gunshot wound to the chest.
