On January 18, 2023, 17-year-old Kristopher Julian Baca Jr. was fatally shot in Palmdale, California. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 38600 block of 11th Street East, where deputies responding to a shots-fired call discovered Baca in a driveway with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
