On January 23, 2023, 18-year-old Mario Navarro was fatally shot during a music video filming at a Valero gas station in East Oakland, California. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. at the 5900 block of MacArthur Boulevard, where a crowd of approximately 40 to 50 people had gathered for the video shoot. During the event, multiple shooters exchanged gunfire, resulting in Navarro's death and injuries to several others.
