On February 6, 2023, at approximately 1:05 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence on the 1600 block of Kristin Way in McKinleyville, California, following a neighbor's report of gunshots. Upon entry, deputies discovered the bodies of 54-year-old Marya Jensen Dory and her husband, 63-year-old Charles Dory. The investigation determined that Charles fatally shot Marya before taking his own life, classifying the incident as a murder-suicide resulting from domestic violence ...
