On June 15, 2023, at approximately 12:46 p.m., 37-year-old Amazon truck driver Ilkhom Shodiev was fatally shot while driving northbound on Interstate 5 near Lathrop, California. The shooting caused Shodiev to lose control of his vehicle, which veered off the freeway, collided with two parked cars, and crashed into a building. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
