On July 13, 2023, at approximately 3:05 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Central Division officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of First and Spring Streets, adjacent to Los Angeles City Hall. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Alexander Flores lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were summoned and pronounced Flores deceased at the scene.
