On July 13, 2023, at approximately 3:05 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Central Division officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of First and Spring Streets, adjacent to Los Angeles City Hall. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Alexander Flores lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were summoned and pronounced Flores deceased at the scene.
Investigations revealed that an unidentified suspect approached Flores on foot and fired several shots before fleeing in a vehicle. As of the latest reports, authorities have not provided a description of the suspect or the vehicle involved. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed the victim's identity as Alexander Flores.
Public records indicate that an individual named Alexander A. Flores, aged 38, from Los Angeles, was arrested on July 4, 2023, for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This arrest was made by the East Los Angeles California Highway Patrol. It is unclear if this individual is the same Alexander Flores involved in the July 13 incident.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting of Alexander Flores. The LAPD continues to investigate the case and urges anyone with information to come forward to assist in identifying the suspect or suspects responsible for this crime.
