Friends and family remember him as a "big tough biker guy" with a big heart, always ready to help those in need. His cousin recalled that even in his younger years, Sprowl would put himself in danger to shield others, exemplifying his protective nature.
The perpetrator, John Snowling, was confronted by Orange County Sheriff's deputies shortly after the shooting began. A gunfight ensued, during which Snowling was shot and killed by the deputies. In total, four people, including Snowling, lost their lives in the incident, and six others were injured. The investigation revealed that Snowling had driven from Ohio to California, allegedly targeting his estranged wife over a domestic dispute. He was armed with multiple firearms, including handguns and a shotgun, which were recovered at the scene.
