On September 1, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., 43-year-old Michael "Scrappy" Pinon was fatally shot in the 1000 block of Monterey Street in east Bakersfield, California.
Upon arrival, officers found Pinon with gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
