On September 8, 2023, at approximately 2 a.m., authorities responded to a residence in the 11900 block of South Van Ness Avenue in Hawthorne, California, following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, Hawthorne police officers discovered 47-year-old Cesar Facio of Inglewood inside the home, suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were summoned, and Facio was pronounced dead at the scene.
