On December 25, 2023, Gilbert Rodriguez, a 56-year-old resident of Los Angeles, California, was fatally shot in the chest. The incident occurred on a sidewalk in the 1600 block of East Florence Avenue in the unincorporated Florence-Firestone area of Los Angeles. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene at 9:34 p.m.
The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office classified Rodriguez's death as a homicide, citing the cause as a gunshot wound to the chest.
Gilbert Rodriguez was born on August 7, 1967. He is survived by his mother, Yolanda Rodriguez; sisters, Stella Garcia and Yvonne Garcia; and his daughter, Alina Rodriguez.
