On January 20, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Pomona Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 500 block of North Claremont Place. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Emanuel Moran, a resident of Pomona, deceased in an alley from a gunshot wound to the head. A second victim, identified as 19-year-old Aly Mejia, was found critically injured and transported to a local hospital.
