On January 30, 2024, at approximately 12:17 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of gunfire at the Los Ranchos Mobile Home Park in the 20600 block of Waalew Road, Apple Valley, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Sommer Christine Kelly deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. Her 18-year-old daughter was also present, suffering from several gunshot injuries; she was promptly transported to a trauma center and was listed in stable condition.
