On March 2, 2024, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Fresno County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of gunfire on the 3100 block of South Indianola Avenue in Sanger, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 43-year-old Sanger resident Cesar Quezada suffering from gunshot wounds outside a residence where his family members lived. Despite life-saving efforts by deputies and emergency medical services, Quezada was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives initiated an investigati
on, collecting potential surveillance footage from the vicinity and interviewing individuals acquainted with Quezada to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death. Preliminary findings suggested that the incident was targeted, not a random act of violence.
In August 2024, detectives sought public assistance in identifying a vehicle potentially connected to the homicide. The vehicle of interest was described as a light-colored GMC or Chevrolet pickup truck, featuring noticeable discoloration on the passenger side of its extended cab, black rims, oversized tires, and a loud exhaust system. Authorities released surveillance footage of the truck, urging anyone with information to come forward.
As of December 2024, no arrests have been reported in connection with Quezada's death.
